The Rollei

Agnieszka and Albert on a walk through Granica forest.

I’m a bit fed up with my huge, bulky Canon. And with everything the digital compact camera market has to offer. Nothing out there meets my criteria. Neither does the Rollei 35 S, but I was able to borrow it free of charge. From my mum, who bought it in the late 70s or early 80s. Whaddayaknow, it still shoots perfectly perfect pictures! The one above was shot in Granica forest, right next to Kampinos.

These are not from Canada, obviously. This is just another post before there’s actually anything to post, to make sure the layout works. And to take my mind off the packing business. 🙂 I bought a few rolls of film and hope to fill them, over time. And then post the results here. They will probably be one half dreamy-eyed portraits of Albert and one half snapshots from the streets of Vancouver. 🙂

The Szemplinski vacation retreat.

This is the weekend / vacation retreat built by Edek and his dad. We went there for a few days on our last visit to Poland. It was my first time there, and it didn’t disappoint. I was quite impressed, to be honest. This is a house I could easily live in.

Kazik carves a sculpture

Here, Kazik – Agnieszka’s second-oldest nephew – carves a little figurine out of a piece of wood. Fits the setting perfectly. 🙂

Albert, age 9 Months, reading magazines and looking smart and alert. 🙂

There’s more, but… anyway. This works. 🙂
