Welcome back! We’re on the road again, so we’ll continue the blog. Gaga has a bit less than two years left on maternity leave, so we’ll try to get to a few beautiful, interesting places and see where the grass is greenest. First stop: Singapore.
I wrote this last night and didn’t publish it. Sometimes it’s better to read things over again. 🙂 But then I figured, what the heck. So here you go. 🙂
I will say this in advance: I should not be writing blog posts after a week of long hours at work, sleep deprivation through evil tooth fairies, moving into a new apartment, and having more wine than an empty stomach should be exposed to. We’ve been looking at apartments to rent. There are lots of them, to be fair, but only before sorting the wheat from the chaff. Many are too small (0 bedroom studios are a real thing here), too low (really, we’re too old for basements) or simply cost an arm and a leg (small 1 bedroom apartment for 5000$/month, anyone?). This took a while longer than expected, but: We made it!
We had a reasonably comfortable flight and learned a few things along the way. 🙂 Albert was great and a real sunshine, except for the very last hour. Getting the work permit was painless, if a bit slow, and getting to the apartment was actually a pleasant surprise. And now: the long version. 🙂 (It’s really long. Just saying.) Read more
