Seen one seen them all?
Only yesterday evening I talked to Julian and we agreed, that so far we didn’t find anything in Vancouver we don’t have in Stuttgart as well (including Starbucks 🙂 ).
I even thought I already saw a whale…
You may ask where I could possibly have seen such a creature in Botnang. Well, I think seeing one of our elderly neighbors hanging her curtains wearing only panties can be classified as seeing something whaleISH (it was definitely a life changing experience) but after seeing the REAL whale I can tell you: there is nothing like it in Stuttgart…
And I didn’t book any expensive trip with the high-speed boat to see it, I just went for a walk with Albert.
There is no point in telling how overwhelming it is to see the whale. Just swimming in the bay, not caring about those dozens of people with phones and cameras trying to take the best picture…
And yes, I know, my picture and video are not the best quality you can imagine, but I didn’t want to see the scene through the lens. So after capturing the short video I put my mobile away and just enjoyed the magic moment.
I even think it was quite rare for the locals to see the whale so close because some of them just stopped in the middle of the traffic, got out of the car and went to the beach to take a better look.
The only person not being interested in the whale at all was Albert. He had his eyes only for the dog standing just beside us…
Well, maybe next time!

Well, thank you very much! Thanks for giving me another reason to think how my life is miserable 🙂 Seing whale on a walk in the park? Souds as abstract like: “i saw pink flamingo flying in warsaw- stupid birds”… I just adore this photos, and climate over there!
I had just made myself a cup of coffee, after lunch with a nice perspective of reading news from you. Once again you spoiled rest of my day: it seems that Warsaw is soooo booooring in comparison to Vanc. Racoons, whales, dogs- almost like in the zoo 😉
Hugs and kisses from beer-office, where only think i see is fog behind the window!
ps. It feels so oldschool wihout being able to click “like” or leave stupid emotikons in the post! I love it!
Relax. Vancouver will be here for you, when you finally decide that Warsaw is too boring. 🙂 Honestly, Warsaw seems to be definitely more modern and prosperous. Agnieszka’s first impression of the city was: “Oh, this looks like Warsaw… in the early 80s!” 😉
We ARE old, so we have to have an oldschool blog. All that new-fangled clutter is only distracting. 🙂
Hey Canadian Kids! Your blog is great! Keep it up!
Yay! Thanks. 🙂 We’ll do our best!
We exactly know that feeling! We saw some humpbacks in Oz and it was so so sooo overwhelming. I even had some tears in my eyes as I ever wanted to see whales in ‘real’ life, not in seaworld, not from an expensive touriboat.
And Agnieszka you were probably the only person who enjoyed it without a mobile phone in front of the face. Good choice 😉
Hugs from Portugal
Portugal? Guys, seriously. Stop making everybody jealous. 🙂
Hugs back!
You know, our Botnag whale has got a decent connection to Vancouver …
Nevertheless I’d really love to exchance the view on a hoard of destructive pigs for a glimpse on a whale <3
There’s room! Come on over! We’d love to have you here!
